Our Philosophy

We all have within us: our attendant spirit present from birth; innate ability or inclination, which is the oldest Latin definition of “genius.”  This is true whether you can barely hold a pen or are headed to Harvard.

Writing opens us to our genius. Our words—our essence—when unleashed, spill forth in a floodgate of expression, even if our letters look like chicken scrawl or our misspelled words barely make sense.

Our Writing Clinic

Learn a writing process that embraces your opinions, your vocabulary, your mistakes and your personal experience. Learn how honest and meaningful writing opens self-expression.

Our fun, yet intensive, writing clinic builds on each writer's unique style and teaches students to write personal essays.

The focus of the clinic is to:

  • Encourage the writer's authentic voice

  • Play with several brainstorming techniques to discover writing topics

  • Practice rewriting and editing to polish ideas into clarity

  • Share and acknowledge writing
